New Pet Peeve
Here's one that will make your skin crawl: men who sit down in the stall in a public restroom, do their business (I'm talking #2 here) and conduct business on their cell phone while they're doing it.

Blue Water
Being the lazy single father that I am, a few weeks ago I decided to try one of those toilet bowl cleaning tablets that you drop in the tank. The idea is that it keeps your bowl fresh and clean (now with the power of bleach!).
The funny thing is that the water in my toilet is now so blue, I always feel like I'm using an airplane bathroom. I keep expecting the fasten seat belt sign to turn on, which makes me a little rushed when I'm executing The Move.

Too Much?
This will probably end up as a full post about life, but I have an aching suspicion that I may be ingesting too much caffeine. If you think that sounds silly, think again.
Caffeine overdose starts to happen after you top 250mg (equivalent to about 2.5 cups of coffee). The average cup of coffee contains anywhere between 40mg and 150mg of caffeine, but there's nothing average about the way I take my coffee (extra strong). There is also nothing average about the number of cups I drink each day. By my estimates, I'm consuming somewhere between 700mg and 1,500mg of caffeine daily.

Weather Research
It's raining here today, and they say we have more coming over the next several days. As I watched it pour on a smoke break earlier, I had an interesting thought.
Meteorologists forecast the weather by using computer models that draw from complex algorithms for fluid dynamics and physics, but also through a bit of adaptive prediction (that's a Heuristic algorithm for you geek types). In other words, (extremely simplified) if the conditions in your area on July fourth are mostly cloudy and 82 degrees, and it historically rained on 80% of the days that followed those exact conditions, then there is an 80% chance of precipitation for July 5th.
What I'm curious about, though, is whether or not weather is influenced by man. For example, would a local weather pattern be a little off if there was, say, a major sporting event that everyone drove to? If you think about it, that would increase C02 emissions, which arguably might have an impact. I don't know if a study has been done on this phenomenon or not, but it would certainly be interesting to see what (if any) immediate effect we have on the weather.

Random Thoughts?
I decided to create a space just to store little random thoughts I have from time to time. Some of these may develop into full blog posts; others may simply sit here and languish.
